We always jump at the chance to support our local businesses, and we recently had the pleasure of helping out a community favorite: Joe’s New York Pizzeria in West Winfield, NY!

A pizzeria has a lot of heat to manage, and keeping that heat where it belongs (in the ovens, not the dining room!) is key to a comfortable shop. Our crew was on-site to address the building’s thermal performance.

Keeping the Heat Out with Cellulose

To take the first step toward improving the shop’s comfort and efficiency, we added cellulose insulation to the attic. This is a smart upgrade that will help:

• Keep the Heat Out: The dense layer of cellulose provides an excellent thermal barrier, resisting the transfer of heat from the hot summer sun (or from the pizza ovens!) down into the occupied spaces.
• Improve Efficiency: By preventing heat transfer, the shop’s air conditioning system won’t have to work as hard, leading to energy savings.
