This week, we’re shouting out a fantastic project completed by the Upstate Spray Foam & HVAC team right here in Earlville! Our crew—John, Brett, and Antoni—were hard at work insulating a large pole barn, transforming it into a space ready for any season.

Maximum Comfort, Maximum Efficiency

A pole barn is a huge investment, and insulating it correctly is the key to protecting that investment and making the space truly useable year-round. For this project, we went all-in on efficiency:

• R-38 Insulation: We applied a thick layer of spray foam insulation to all the ceiling slopes and angled walls, achieving a robust R-38 rating. This high R-value means superior resistance to heat transfer, keeping the warm air in during the winter and the cool air in during the summer.
• Dual-Layer Exterior Walls: The team used a combination of spray foam and foam board for the exterior walls. This strategic layering creates an incredibly strong thermal barrier, virtually eliminating drafts and thermal bridging (heat loss through structural elements).

The result? This barn is now set up for maximum comfort and energy efficiency—whether it’s being used for storage, a workshop, or anything else!
