How Long Does the NYSERDA Energy Program Take?

If you’re considering energy efficiency upgrades through NYSERDA, it’s helpful to know what to expect during the application and approval process. Fortunately, most homeowners are seeing their applications sent to NYSERDA and processed within just a couple of weeks. Here’s a breakdown of what happens next:

Application and Contractor Selection

Once you’ve applied and selected Upstate Spray Foam as your contractor, we’re officially enlisted to handle your energy efficiency improvements. Within about two to three weeks, we’ll have one of our certified energy auditors come out to your home and perform a comprehensive energy audit.

What Happens After the Work is Completed

One of the great benefits of working with NYSERDA’s programs is that homeowners may have the opportunity to reapply for additional energy efficiency upgrades. At the time of writing, homeowners can apply for the program more than once. After your initial project is complete, we encourage you to reach out to NYSERDA to check the waiting period for reapplying.

This is especially helpful if the grant you received didn’t cover all of the insulation or energy improvements needed for your home. By reapplying, you can get additional work done and continue enhancing your home’s energy efficiency.
