When it comes to energy efficiency upgrades through the NYSERDA EmPower+ program, renters often wonder if their landlord will have access to their personal information. At Upstate Spray Foam, we understand the concerns about privacy and have processes in place to ensure your information remains confidential.
Privacy for Renters
As a renter, your personal details stay between you, us, and the state. While your landlord needs to sign a landlord agreement to approve the insulation work, we don’t share any of your personal information with them. The landlord’s role is simply to acknowledge the improvements being made to their property, without accessing any of the private information you provide to the state.
Landlord Agreement
For the work to begin, we only need your landlord’s consent for the property upgrades. Once they’ve agreed to the insulation improvements, we move forward with the project, focusing on enhancing your living situation and helping you save on utility costs.
Can Renters Apply More Than Once?
Yes! If you move to a new location, you can apply for the program again. The NYSERDA program is tied to the residence address itself, not the individual. So, if you move into another property that lacks proper insulation, we recommend giving us a call. We may be able to help you save on energy bills in your new home too.
If you’re a renter facing high heating costs due to poor insulation, don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We’re here to help improve your comfort and reduce your utility expenses, no matter where you live!
